M.K.Teja was an interesting character. He knew many things, from politics to F-1 racing. He was a die hard fan of sachin tendulkar and cricket. He simply loved the game. He loved it more than physics , math and chemistry and even more than his Australian girl friend (hmmm.I don’t remember the name. haha don’t get angry teja).
praneeth was silent and he was an expert in math. He even topped the class sometimes in math tests. Praneeth and myself were great fans of Rahul Dravid and we both on one side always fought with M.K.Teja. He supports Sachin and Ganguly while we both supported Dravid.
Bhargav was also a silent guy.. we called him daddy bhargav… he had some grey hair and on the first day of the college everybody in his class stood on seeing him.. just like the scene in Munnabhai MBBS a bollywood flick.. from that day they called him uncle and after a few days it changed to grand father and after that he was fondly called as daddy bhargav.
I got to tell u about Ravindra. He was cunning(sorry Ravi I felt so), cunning in a different way. He used to fight with Bhargav for keeping his cot near the fan. It appears funny. But those kind of fights really mattered, because Vijayawada is not a cool place. They call it Blazewada. It was so hot there and Ravi also used to fight every night not to open the windows as he had cold. One night, we can adjust, but every night, we cant. But no one said a thing except lava. One day, they almost used their fists at 12-00 am making a hell of noise. Even today I m still amazed at the speed at which they forget the fight that happens the previous night. The next morning lava would be waiting in the mess with two plates one for himself and the other one for Ravi. Ravi would come and talk to him about Chiru's(a telugu movie star) next movie while eating chapattis which were like chewing gums stretched in the form of a circle of 5 cms radius.
The last cot in our room was Harshas.. he was bubbly.. always smiling and friendly with everyone. His face looked as if he was in 7th grade. But he was almost 6 feet tall. He has got a lean look.

ReplyDeleteChapatis in gudavalli were the best , in 1999-2000, during our batch, we had with all students in gudavalli campus, requesting the Director that one more chapati should be given. At that time 4 were maximum served to one person. We were asking for one more for everyone.
ReplyDeleteIt had the best food overall among all residential colleges in AP.

ReplyDeleteYes, they were great. I can still recollect the taste of those chapatis with potato curry. I used to have breakfast twice on chapatis' day skipping the shower. :P
